What is the fide test?
An examination designed to assess your proficiency in French, the fide test was developed in Switzerland by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) to meet the requirements of administrative procedures such as residence permit renewals and naturalisation applications. Fide test fees
- For the oral part: CHF 170
- For the written part: CHF 120 CHF 120
- For the combination For the combination of the oral and written parts : CHF 250 : CHF 250
Test duration
- The speaking part consists of two 20-minute sessions.
- The written part consists of an introduction lasting around 15 minutes, followed by a 60-minute test.
- The combination of speaking and writing consists of two sessions of 20 minutes for the speaking + 60 minutes for the writing.
Cancellation policy
- If the cancellation is made more than 2 weeks before the test date: a 20 CHF fee.
- If the cancellation is made less than 2 weeks before the test date: a 88 CHF fee.
